Fabián Basabe is the poster child for betrayal, scandal, and political hypocrisy. Representing Florida’s most LGBTQ+ visible legislative district, Basabe campaigned as a gay ally and promised moderation. Instead, he became one of Governor Ron DeSantis’s most loyal foot soldiers in pushing anti-LGBTQ+ legislation through the Florida House. From expanding “Don’t Say Gay” laws to voting to ban gender-affirming care, Basabe’s record is a roadmap of regression and extremism—all while facing multiple lawsuits, allegations of sexual misconduct, and public disgrace.
His district has had enough. In 2024, Basabe narrowly eked out re-election with just 51% of the vote. But his scandals have only grown. The communities of Miami Beach and Florida House District 106 deserve better than a self-serving, scandal-ridden extremist.
Basabe’s re-election campaign begins this year. So does the campaign to remove him. In 2026, Agenda PAC is committed to making that happen.
