Meet Georgia’s Most Beatable Bigot:

Rep. Matt Reeves

Matt Reeves presents himself as a soft-spoken suburban moderate. But in office, he’s voted like a hard-right culture warrior: backing bans on trans youth healthcare, attacking abortion access, and quietly aligning with the far-right groups pushing Georgia into extremism. In 2024, he won re-election by just 2.2% in a diverse, Democratic-trending district. And his base is eroding fast.

Reeves may avoid inflammatory language in public, but his voting record tells a different story. He voted to criminalize gender-affirming care for trans youth. He supported banning trans girls from school sports. He proudly calls himself “100% pro-life.” And he’s doing all of this while representing a district that’s younger, more diverse, and increasingly out of step with the Georgia GOP.

He may not be up again until 2026. But his campaign, and ours, has already begun.

He’s vulnerable. He’s extreme. He’s beatable.

Anti-LGBTQ+ and Anti-Family Record

  • Voted for SB 140 banning gender-affirming healthcare for transgender youth, with civil penalties for providers.

  • Supported HB 267 (“Riley Gaines Act”) banning trans girls from girls’ school sports.

  • Never backed a pro-LGBTQ+ policy; aligned with groups opposing LGBTQ+ rights and protections.

  • Associated with forces seeking to limit visibility and rights for queer and trans students.

A Dangerous Anti-Abortion Agenda

  • Declared abortion should be illegal—no exceptions.

  • Holds Georgia Life Alliance “Pro-Life Certification” and endorsed by Frontline Policy Action.

  • Positions indicate support for stricter laws than Georgia’s current six-week abortion ban.

  • Consistently aligned with anti-choice, religious-right groups, out of step with most Georgia voters.

Culture War Over Constituents

  • Supported bans and restrictions targeting LGBTQ+ students and transgender youth healthcare.

  • Advocates government interference in medical decisions.

  • No major legislative wins on jobs, healthcare, or affordability.

  • Endorsed by groups opposing gay marriage, seeking voting restrictions, and rejecting scientific consensus.

Key Vulnerabilities

  • Won re-election in 2024 by only 2.2%—one of the slimmest GOP margins in Georgia.

  • Represents a diverse, fast-changing district with one of the largest Asian-American voting blocs in the state.

  • Since 2020: higher Democratic turnout; voters of color now nearly 50% of electorate; suburban voters flipping local control; GOP underperformance in the area.

  • Margin shrank from near-double-digit win in 2022 to near-loss in 2024.

Matt Reeves works hard to project the image of a suburban moderate, but his record tells a different story. In vote after vote, he’s sided with the far-right on the most divisive issues, putting an extremist agenda ahead of the values and needs of his constituents. The moderate brand is a façade, and voters are beginning to see through it.

He has:

  • A 2.2% margin in a swing district

  • A voting record that targets trans youth and restricts reproductive freedom

  • Deep ties to Georgia’s most extreme anti-choice and anti-LGBTQ+ organizations

  • No serious record of delivering for his district

His constituents are moving on. And in 2026, so will the seat.

Matt Reeves is Georgia’s        top 50-for-50 target.
